DACP is seeking new dancers for our Inclusive Arts Vibe Dance Company! Do you know an aspiring dancer who would like to develop their artistic skills, collaborate on and learn choreography, rehearse, and perform in a public setting?

Inclusive Arts Vibe at Disability Pride Art and Culture Festival 2012

Begun in 2006, our Inclusive Arts Vibe program includes mixed-ability classes at two schools and a dance company for ages 12-22+. From the beginning, we have been dedicated to empowering young artists and offering opportunities for training and performance.

YOUTH DANCERS WANTED!
Who: Ages 12 to 22 (exceptions made)
What: Performance dance company
When: Mondays 6:00 – 7:15pm
Where: Zoomtopia, 810 SE Belmont, Portland
Cost: $5 to $10 per class
(no one turned away due to lack of fees)

No prior dance experience necessary. Just the desire and commitment to move. Periodic community performances and our own showcase in May. Inclusive Arts Vibe provides integrated dance classes for students with and without disabilities.

Dancers will perform as a group and may also perform a solo if they choose, gaining experience in choreography and the responsibility of taking on their own creative project. All choreography builds on the dancers unique minds and bodies, and each dancer contributes to the choreography in their own way. Dancers’ reasons for dancing include:

the pleasure of dance,

exercise and energy,

the fun and nice people in rehearsals,

and the feelings of happiness and pride that come from performing in front of people.

Registrations for new dancers are accepted at any time, but our new season will begin in early October. Please contact us by October 8th to reserve your spot. Classes have already begun, so you many join at anytime. We will also accept new dancers after October 8th, but this is when this year’s new cohort will officially begin!

For more information and to sign up, contact Kathy Coleman at 503-238-0723 (voice) or .
