Join us fTwo dangling earrings, made of shiny layered and fringed red and gold fabric, made by Sarah Doherty, against a white background.or an all-ages jewelry-making workshop with Disability Art and Culture Project. Or bring your own project for a community art/craft afternoon! Sarah Doherty, DACP development director and volunteer (and glitter enthusiast), will lead a workshop on making paper beads and other jewelry out of paper and cloth. Cheryl Green, fabulous filmmaker and longtime DACP volunteer, will also run an open table of arts and crafts for people who want to work on their own projects. All materials and tools will be provided. Don’t worry if you’ve never made jewelry before, or if you don’t think you have the skills! The workshop is inclusive, for all ages and abilities, we’ll have some shapes already cut out for you to manipulate and play with, and DACP will also have some volunteers to assist with the fiddly hand-eye coordination stuff. All participants will receive an electronic image of the art/jewelry piece(s) they create, and the jewelry and artwork will be donated to DACP for fundraising purposes. Inclusive Arts Vibe Dance Company’s spring performance is coming up, and DACP is working on a family friendly fundraiser to cover the expenses. This workshop is for people who would like to create art to donate for auction at DACP’s fundraiser!
