The mission of DACP is to further the artistic expression of people with both apparent and non-apparent disabilities.  We view disability as a natural and valuable variation of the human form. We believe affirmative disability identity is intertwined with racial, gender, social, and economic justice.  DACP accomplishes this mission by supporting the creative expression of people with disabilities. DACP also supports established and emerging artists, as well as the community at large, in developing knowledge and expression of disability culture and pride.

DACP supports a progressive view of disability.  We embrace a social/embodiment model of disability, knowledge of critical disability studies, disability justice and disability arts.

DACP advances the artistic and cultural development of the region’s disability community and to educate the arts and social justice communities about equity and disability culture.  We provide opportunities to collaborate and perform without the barriers intrinsic to many institutions. We express and celebrate disability identities through the arts and organizing.

Description:

The Managing Director is an administrative position that supports the overall operations of DACP and support program activities.  They will oversee and implement day to day operations including daily administration, payroll, volunteer coordination, and maintain a calendar of all activities, board communications and development.  The Managing Director is in charge of donor and fundraising efforts and In collaboration with the Artistic Director will assist in grant writing.

Qualifications:

  • Donor development:
    • Solicit donations and cultivate relationships with donors
    • Maintain donor database
    • Issue tax receipts
  • Fundraising:
    • Organize fundraising events and conduct fundraising campaigns including year-end campaign (Willamette Week Give!Guide, Giving Tuesday, etc)
  • Technology:
    • Research technology and best practices for access and accommodations for meetings and events
    • Create accessible materials such as documents, flyers, forms, websites, and for social media
    • Proficient with Google Suite, Adobe Suite and Acrobat, Microsoft Office, iWork, WordPress, MailChimp
    • Scheduling technology for meetings and events
  • Events:
    • Scheduling rooms and venues
    • Ordering catering
    • Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for events
  • Board:
    • Schedule meetings and take minutes
    • Engage Board in volunteer work and track hours
  • Fiscal:
    • Coordinate with venues and contractors on rental agreements, contracts, and MOUs
  • Grants & evaluations:
    • Track outcomes, participant numbers, demographics for our programs
  • Communications:
    • Promote events using direct email, social media, press releases, community calendars and contacts
    • Update website
  • Human Resources:
    • Complete hiring paperwork
    • Issue and collect timesheets
    • Communicate policy to staff
