Your contributions allow DACP to produce events such as the Portland ReelAbilities Film Festival, Portland’s first Disability Film Festival, which we put on in May 2016. As part of the Festival, we filmed a Disability Representation in Film and TV Panel Discussion at Portland Community Media.

You can catch the first airing of the Panel Discussion on Channel 22 this Saturday November 26 at 5:00 p.m.!  All airings will be Closed Captioned.

Four women sit in a row, one in a wheelchair, the other three in black chairs. The women have lapel microphones on the collars of their shirts. Black cords run behind their chairs. A large purple curtain hangs in the background.

About the Panel: local artists with disabilities and allies gathered to talk about the ways we can bring disability arts into the mainstream. Their conversation is followed by audience Q & A.

Panelists:
Cheryl Green: Media Artist and Closed Captioner
Courtney Hermann: Filmmaker and Media Arts Educator
Bryony Nesbitt: Writer, Actor, Joy Seeker

Moderated by Kathy Coleman: Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dance Filmmaker.
